More than pictures. A moment of recognition.

I photograph people—not poses.

What matters most to me is how you feel in the moment. Not how perfectly you smile, but how deeply you connect with yourself, even just for a second.

Some of my clients arrive quietly, unsure.

Some are mothers who’ve spent years behind the camera.

Some are teenage girls still learning how to be seen.

Others come bursting with boldness and stories to tell.

All of them leave having seen themselves differently. That’s the magic.

Because you deserve to feel beautiful
being exactly who you are.

I didn’t start photography to create images.

I started because I wanted people to feel something they might not have felt in a long time:

worthy. powerful. gently seen.

There’s something profound about being captured with care.

Something healing. Especially for those who have rarely felt truly visible.

Whether it’s a quiet portrait, an editorial session, or something whimsical and fairytale-like—

what I create is a mirror. One that reflects not who you think you should be, but who you already are.

Editorial in spirit. Emotional in soul.

You won’t find stiff poses or forced smiles here.

What I offer feels more like stepping into a quiet story where you are the central character.

My work is inspired by magazine-style beauty—but with softness.

Yes, you’ll look amazing. But more than that, you’ll look real. Like you. Maybe for the first time.

And for those who want it—I create fairytale-inspired portraits too.

Not costumes for the sake of fantasy, but magic as a way of saying: You are already legendary.

If you’ve ever felt too unsure, too invisible, too “not enough”… this space is for you.

You don’t have to know how to pose.

You don’t have to love your body or feel confident right now.

You just have to be willing to let yourself be seen with kindness.

I work especially tenderly with those who feel vulnerable in front of the camera—

teenage girls still becoming, mothers who’ve forgotten themselves, and anyone who’s used to hiding.

I see you. And I’ll show you something beautiful.

A little about me

I’m Mireille Wu—a portrait photographer based in La Prairie, Quebec – only 25 minutes from Montréal.

I’ve spent the last 9 years helping people see themselves differently. My sessions are quiet, warm, and intentional. There is no rush. No pressure.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me spending time with my family or illustrating whimsicle pictures.

This isn’t just my job. It’s what I love.

modern portrait experience As a woman who soon will turn 48, I’ve experienced a profound shift in how I view myself and my place in the world. My 45’s birthday made me reflect on my journey, the challenges I’ve faced, and the incredible growth I’ve achieved. I realized that despite the beauty, wisdom, and resilience that come with age, society often overlooks the contributions and experiences of women over 40. My own journey hasn’t been without its struggles. I’ve faced moments of self-doubt, times when I felt invisible, wondering if my best years were behind me. But then I met my husband at the age of 41, married and had my second child at the age of 43, moved over the ocean, left my old life behind and started all over again at the age of 45. Since 2016 I’m photographing women all ages in a magical transformative experience. Women over 40 are still beautiful, and their stories need to be seen and heard. This portfolio session is the beginning of my 40 over 40+ campaign that will launch later this year. I want to photograph and tell the stories of 40 women over 40+ At the end of this campaign I want to exhibit all stories at a big event.

Want to know what it feels like to be seen this way?

Let’s talk. You don’t have to be “ready.”

You just have to be curious.
